30 September 2026 | Rome
LIFE Svolta Blu will take part in the EuroMediterranean Water Forum, bringing to Rome its experience with Blue Credits and the work carried out in the Vicenza area together with companies to promote more sustainable water resource management.
At the heart of the project’s participation will be the model currently being tested by LIFE Svolta Blu in the Veneto Region: a water credit trading system inspired by carbon credit markets, designed to recognise and enhance initiatives that generate concrete, measurable and long-lasting benefits for water resources.
The project will be joined by FITT, a company headquartered in Sandrigo (Vicenza) and one of the businesses involved in the pilot initiative. The work carried out with FITT includes the calculation and verification of its water footprint in accordance with the ISO 14046 standard, the identification of measures to improve the efficiency of production processes, and the testing of the Blue Credits system. This provides a concrete case study to explore the role the private sector can play in protecting water resources and reducing water consumption.
On 30 September, LIFE Svolta Blu will take part in two sessions of the programme:
9:30–11:30 | “Blue Finance and Blue Investment” – Sala Atlante
A discussion on economic and financial instruments that can support and enhance companies’ investments in water efficiency and conservation.
16:30–18:00 | “CEO Water Pledge Roundtable” – Sala Tirreno
A roundtable dedicated to the role and commitment of the private sector in addressing the challenges related to water availability and sustainable water management.
Participation in the Forum will provide an opportunity to bring the experience developed in the Vicenza area to an international setting, exchanging perspectives on new approaches and solutions for the future of sustainable water resource management.
