The Partners

LEAD PARTNER

VIACQUA

In the LIFE Svolta Blu project, Viacqua takes on the role of lead partner, coordinating the activities of the partners and ensuring the implementation of the various project phases. As the operator of the integrated water system in the pilot area of the Vicenza plain, Viacqua oversees the design, testing, and management of the voluntary water credit exchange system ("blue credits"). Viacqua supports strategies for water savings, reuse, and controlled aquifer recharge, collaborating to quantify water needs and identify concrete measures for reducing consumption. Additionally, it assists pilot stakeholders in implementing interventions and ensures that the system is sustainable and adaptable to the local context.

PARTNER

FONDAZIONE PALAZZO FESTARI INTESA PROGRAMMATICA D'AREA ALTO VICENTINO

La Fondazione Palazzo Festari, represented by the Intesa Programmatica d'Area (IPA) Alto Vicentino, leads awareness and engagement activities for public administrations and local authorities. IPA is responsible for developing a model and the associated management software for the operation of the voluntary blue credit generation and exchange system, as well as for a Multi-Year Development Plan for the activation and full implementation of the system in the Vicenza area. Additionally, IPA organises meetings and workshops to promote nature-based solutions for water management, actively involving local and regional decision-makers.

PARTNER

CONSORZIO DI BONIFICA ALTA PIANURA VENETA

The Consorzio di Bonifica Alta Pianura Veneta (APV) coordinates activities aimed at the agricultural sector. In collaboration with ANBI Veneto, APV organises training and outreach meetings for agricultural sector operators on topics such as water conservation, aquifer recharge, and nature-based solutions for water management. Additionally, it actively participates in the identification and implementation of sustainable water resource management practices and supports the implementation of pilot interventions, contributing to the development of guidelines for the replicability of the blue credit system in the agricultural sector.

PARTNER

ASSOCIAZIONE REGIONALE DEI CONSORZI DI GESTIONE E TUTELA DEL TERRITORIO E ACQUE IRRIGUE

ANBI Veneto plays a crucial role in engaging stakeholders from the agricultural and forestry sectors. It coordinates the implementation of training activities aimed at the Consorzi di Bonifica on topics such as water conservation, aquifer recharge, and nature-based solutions for water management. ANBI organises meetings with trade associations to raise awareness among agricultural operators and promote the adoption of sustainable practices. Furthermore, ANBI contributes to the monitoring of the environmental impacts of interventions, collaborating in the assessment of benefits for the water system and local ecosystems.

PARTNER

CSQA CERTIFICAZIONI SRL

CSQA plays a fundamental role as an independent third party responsible for verifying and certifying the blue credits produced by the pilot stakeholders. Its activities include verifying the water footprint according to the ISO 14046:2014 standard, conducting annual audits to maintain certification, and preparing monitoring and evaluation reports for the system. CSQA also contributes to the qualitative and quantitative analysis of data to identify potential issues and areas for improvement, as well as to the development of a UNI guideline for calculating blue credits, ensuring the replicability and sustainability of the model developed.

PARTNER

Università degli studi di Padova

The University of Padua (UNIPD) leads the scientific research and monitoring activities. The Department of Civil, Building, and Environmental Engineering is responsible for the hydrological analysis and the updated water balance for the Vicenza area. It also contributes to the evaluation of the environmental impacts of the interventions, calculating the specific contribution to the local water balance and estimating benefits related to aquifer recharge and ecosystem protection. Additionally, the Department of Land and Agro-Forestry Systems conducts sample surveys to estimate the market demand and willingness to pay for blue credits among the population, thus supporting the proper definition of the pricing system.
